celebrity style icons & looks for less

Two of my favorite celebrity style icons are Lauren Conrad and Rachel Bilson. They are two complete opposites in terms of style and I just love both of them! Lauren is the girly girl with her dresses/skinny jeans/heels and completing her looks with her mouth-watering collection of ever so classy Chanel bags. On the other hand, the casual Rachel has the sexy tom-boyish vibe going on with her menswear inspired looks like boyfriend blazers/jeans. Here are my copy-catted versions just for fun! My sunglasses are actually Chanel but let's keep that on the d-low for the purpose of my "looks for less" theme ;)

spring yet?

This past weekend was chilly but I decided to ignore that and put on a Spring outfit that I cannot wait to wear. Spring is definitely my favorite time of the year, the easy breezy beautiful weather...blue sky and blooming flowers, ahhh...I just can't wait!

I noticed that when taking pictures, I tend to find posts or things to lean on because I have no clue how to model for pictures without being awkward and unnatural. The bf called this my "waiting for the bus" pose =( This outfit incorporates a lot of my favorite elements (leopard prints, loose tees, chiffon and pleats, classic black patent heels, simple accessories) so it kind of gives you an idea of my personal style. Without further ado, here you go:

Necklace: Tiffany&Co, gift <3
Shirt: Armani Exchange (It can also be worn off the shoulder), $19
Skirt: Urban Outfitters, $25 (similar)
Belt: Ann Taylor, $15
Shoes: Aldo's, $30

I like to keep things simple and I'm really not the type that wears bold colors and accessories BUT I am trying to get out of my comfort zone and try new things every now and then. This neon/citron colored belt is probably the brightest item I own. When it comes to outfits, for me...less is more. The most important thing is to be comfortable and confident with what you wear. Don't try to intentionally copy someone else's style/wardrobe (LOL, this will contradict with what I will be showing in my next post).

HAPPY MONDAY!

WU-ed!

Hi guys. I am seriously the worst and the laziest blogger ever. It's been about a year since my last (and first) post and now I'm back. Please consider this my grand re-opening of my blog and I promise that going forward I will be consistent with my posts and update my baby blog about minimum once or so a week. I am so excited to share with you my WUdrobe additions as of late and introduce my photographer to you. I'm a newbie to blogging and modeling, and he's a newbie to photography so your constructive criticisms/advices/inputs are greatly appreciated!

1. Jason Wu for Target sleeveless chiffon dress in navy floral with gold belt, $39.99

This dress is the #1 item that I had my eyes on, even the first lady wore this! I love floral dresses and I believe that every girl should have at least a couple of them in their closet. They are just so easy to wear and wash in the spring/summer and you can layer over them in the fall/winter with different cardigans/blazers and stockings. They could go with boots, heels, or flip flops depending on the occasion and depending on your style. Also, for trips in the spring/summer, they are so easy to pack and takes very little room. This past weekend, the temperature was in the 30s so I threw on a random cardigan to go with this dress for the photo shoot and surprisingly it kind of worked.
Dress: Jason Wu for Target, $40
Cardigan: American Eagle, $20

2. Jason Wu for Target sleeveless top with sheer panel in navy floral, $26.99

This floral top is really cute and the XS fits me perfectly! I don't have anything like it in my closet so this is definitely a keeper for me. I think there is so much potential with this top and that it could go with many different items in my closet. I think it looks cute by itself worn alone with a simple pair of jeans, but remember to wear a strapless bra! Please stay tuned to see more pairing ideas that I will come up with.
Boyfriend Blazer: Urban Outfitters, $38
Shirt: Jason Wu for Target, $27
Pants: Express, $10
Shoes: Aldo's, $30

3. Jason Wu for Target black flared dress with nude belt, $59.99

This dress is THE LBD! Too bad right now I can't really think of any special occasions to wear it to so it will just stay hung in my closet for me to stare at everyday. I bought this dress in a size 2 on eBay and overpaid for it by...just a little, but I think it's well worth it.
